Connecting a powerline adapter from another manufacturer to a FRITZ!Powerline network

FRITZ!Powerline adapters are compatible with the powerline standards HomePlug AV2, HomePlug AV, HomePlug, and IEEE P1901. This means that you can also connect powerline adapters from another manufacturer with your FRITZ!Powerline network.

You can set up the connection quickly and securely at the push of a button. This transmits the password of the FRITZ!Powerline network to the powerline adapter from the other manufacturer and an encrypted connection is established.

Connecting powerline adapters with each other by button

  1. For setup, plug the powerline adapter from the other manufacturer into an outlet near a FRITZ!Powerline adapter that is already in the powerline network.
  2. Push the connect button on the powerline adapter from the other manufacturer. The procedure depends on the powerline adapter. Refer to the manufacturer of the device for information on how to set it up, for example consult the manual.
  3. Push the "WLAN - WPS / Powerline - Security" button on the FRITZ!Powerline adapter within 2 minutes.
  4. The process is completed and the powerline adapters are connected with each other as soon as the Powerline LED on the FRITZ!Powerline adapter remains lit.
