Installing the FRITZ!WLAN Stick
When you connect the FRITZ!WLAN Stick to the USB port on your computer, driver software is automatically installed that integrates the FRITZ!WLAN Stick into the operating system of your computer and provides a connection monitor for monitoring the Wi-Fi connection.
Requirements / Restrictions
- Windows 11 or Windows 10 (64-bit or 32-bit) is installed on the computer.
1 Transmitting the Wi-Fi security settings to FRITZ!WLAN Stick
If you are using a FRITZ!Box with a USB port as your wireless router, you can easily transmit the Wi-Fi security settings to the FRITZ!WLAN Stick before installing it:
- Connect the FRITZ!WLAN Stick to a USB port on the FRITZ!Box.
The Info LED remains lit as soon as the Wi-Fi security settings have been transmitted.
2 Installing the FRITZ!WLAN Stick
- Connect the FRITZ!WLAN Stick to a USB port on the computer. Windows automatically detects the FRITZ!WLAN Stick and starts to install the drivers. This process may take some time.
- If the message "Installation of [...] concluded successfully" is displayed, click "Close".
- If the window "CD drive [...]: AVM FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick [...]" is displayed, click "AVM FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick [...] Installation" and follow the instructions.
Now the FRITZ!WLAN Stick is installed. The Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box is set up automatically if you already transmitted the Wi-Fi security settings to the stick. If you are not using a FRITZ!Box with a USB port as your wireless router, set up the Wi-Fi connection manually.
