Using the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection with several FRITZ!Boxes

With the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection software you can also access several FRITZ!Boxes in the home network. For example, you can use a USB printer connected to a FRITZ!Box configured as a wireless access point, and at the same time connect a USB storage device connected to a second FRITZ!Box configured as a wireless repeater to your computer.

1 Selecting a FRITZ!Box

  1. On your computer, double-click the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection icon in the notification area of the Windows task bar (Systray).
  2. Use the arrow buttons above the middle section of the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection software to switch between the FRITZ!Boxes (see fig.).

Note:The arrows are only displayed if there are several FRITZ!Boxes in the home network with the USB remote connection enabled.

  3. If you set a password for the FRITZ!Box user interface:
      • Enter the password and leave the field "User name" empty,
    • or, if you have protected the FRITZ!Box with a user name and password:
      • Enter the name and password of a user who is authorized to access the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Note:You can edit the access rights of FRITZ!Box users under "System > FRITZ!Box Users" in the user interface.

  4. Click "Refresh".

Now you can connect the USB devices that are connected to the selected FRITZ!Box to your computer.
