Setting up MyFRITZ!App

With MyFRITZ!App and AVM's MyFRITZ! service you can use your smartphone or tablet to access your FRITZ!Box over the Internet from anywhere in the world at any time. With MyFRITZ! you can then easily and securely

  • access FRITZ!NAS in order to upload or download files, or play multimedia contents.
  • check the status information and change settings in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  • check the FRITZ!Box's call list and listen to voice messages recorded by the answering machine (as long as no IP telephones such as FRITZ!App Fon) are set up in the FRITZ!Box).

You can also use MyFRITZ!App to access several FRITZ!Boxes. To do so, you simply have to set up a MyFRITZ! account in the FRITZ!Boxes and register FRITZ!App with each FRITZ!Box once as described here.

Important:If you are using a smartphone or tablet with Android, install our new MyFRITZ!App 2. To do so, proceed as described in this guide.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • iOS 7.0 or later or Android version 2.2 or later is installed on the smartphone or tablet.
  • In Android, MyFRITZ!App cannot play music files in MP3 format or videos in MP4 format.

Note:MyFRITZ!App uses Android's playback function for media playback. This function does not currently support the MP3 or MP4 file format.

  • The FRITZ!Box must establish its own connection to the Internet using a modem (for example a DSL or cable modem).
  • The FRITZ!Box must obtain a public IPv4 address from the Internet service provider.

Important:The FRITZ!Box is not accessible from the Internet over IPv4 when used on a DS-Lite ("Dual-Stack Lite") connection. When DS-Lite is active, the status "IPv4 over DS Lite" is displayed under "Connections" on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.
