Beep is heard when conducting calls using DECT repeater from another manufacturer

You hear a beep every two seconds when conducting calls with a cordless telephone. The cordless telephone is connected to the FRITZ!Box via a DECT repeater from another manufacturer (for example Gigaset, Hama or Swissvoice).

Cause

  • The "verification tone" function is enabled in the DECT repeater. The tone indicates that there is a connection between the cordless telephone and the DECT repeater.

1 Turning off the verification tone in the DECT repeater

  1. Unplug the DECT repeater to switch it off.
  2. Plug the DECT repeater in for about 3 seconds to turn it on briefly, and then unplug it again.
  3. Turn the DECT repeater on again.
  4. Turn the DECT repeater back off when its LED display starts to flash slowly.
  5. Turn the DECT repeater on again.

Note:Since the DECT repeater is from another manufacturer, we cannot answer any further questions if this did not turn off the verification tone. In this case, contact the manufacturer directly.
