FRITZ!Box 7272 Serwis

Setting up MyFRITZ! Accesses

MyFRITZ! Accesses allow you to use any web browser to access browser-based applications in the FRITZ!Box home network, such as a web server or graphic interface of a NAS system, over the Internet at any time. In this case, the FRITZ!Box's firewall continues to protect your home network from unwanted data from the Internet.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • The FRITZ!Box must obtain a public IPv4 address or an IPv6 address from the Internet service provider.

Important:The FRITZ!Box is only accessible from the Internet over IPv6 when used on a DS-Lite ("Dual-Stack Lite") connection. When DS-Lite is active, the status "IPv4 over DS Lite" is displayed under "Connections" on the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface.

  • You must be able to access the server service with a web browser (for example Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer).

Important:Some of the settings described here are only displayed if the advanced view is enabled in the user interface. The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS

1 Preparations

Setting up a MyFRITZ! account and configuring it in the FRITZ!Box

Maintaining a permanent Internet connection

  1. Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Account Information" in the "Internet" menu.
  3. Click on "Change connection settings".
  4. Enable the option "Maintain permanently (recommended for flat rates)".

Important:If the option is not available, then the FRITZ!Box already remains permanently connected to the Internet.

  5. Click "Apply" to save your settings.

Determining the port and Internet protocol

  • Determine the Internet protocol and port the server service uses to accept incoming connections. Refer to the manufacturer for this information, for example consult the manual.

Configuring the computer's firewall

If the server service is installed on a computer with its own firewall (for example Windows firewall), you must also configure the firewall:

  • Configure the computer's firewall according to the manufacturer's instructions so that the server service can be accessed from the FRITZ!Box home network and the Internet.

2 Setting up MyFRITZ! Accesses

  1. Click "Internet" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Permit Access" in the "Internet" menu.
  3. Click on the "Port Sharing" or "Port Forwarding" tab.
  4. Click the button (Edit) for the (computer) name of the device that you would like to set up the sharing for,
    • or, if you have not configured any sharings for the device yet:
      1. Click "Add Device for Sharing".
      2. Select the (computer) name of the device from the drop-down list "Device".

Note:If you cannot select the device, then you can select "Enter the IP address manually" and enter the IP address. Only devices that automatically obtain their IP settings (DHCP) from the FRITZ!Box are listed in the drop-down list.

  5. Click "New Sharing".
  6. Enable the option "MyFRITZ! Access".
  7. From the "Application" drop-down list, select the server service (HTTP Server, HTTPS Server, FTP Server) you would like to release for access via MyFRITZ!,
    • or, if you would like to set up a sharing for a different server service:
      1. Select the entry "Other application".
      2. Enter a name of your choice for the sharing in the "Name" field.
      3. Select the Internet protocol for accessing the server service from the "Scheme" drop-down list.
        • If you would like to configure a sharing for a different Internet protocol, select "Manual entry" and enter the access scheme (for example "ftps://").
      4. Under "Port to device", enter the number of the port on which the server service will listen for incoming connections from the Internet.
  8. Enter a directory in the "Directory (optional)" field (for example \\Folder1\Folder2\) if required by the server service.
  9. Enable the sharing.
  10. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Now the MyFRITZ! access is set up and you can use an access link in the overview of devices on myfritz.net to access your server service.
