Switching FRITZ!DECT 200 according to temperature

You can set up switching for FRITZ!DECT 200 that is based on temperature. Either FRITZ!DECT 200 itself or a Comet DECT measures the temperature. The socket either turns on or off when the specified temperature is reached.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • FRITZ!OS version 6.50 or higher must be installed on the FRITZ!Box.
  • FRITZ!DECT 200 can be used in a temperature range from 0 °C – 40 °C.
  • The temperature sensors on FRITZ!DECT 200 can measure temperatures between 0 °C – 40 °C.

1 Creating a group

First you must set up a group containing the smart home devices with devices connected to them that should be turned on or off automatically as soon as a certain temperature is reached. The group may also consist of a single FRITZ!DECT 200 device:

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click the "New Group" button.
  4. Enter a name for the group and select the smart home devices you would like to switch together in the group.
  5. Click the "OK" button.
    • The group is created.
  6. In the next window, click "OK" to save the settings.

2 Switching a group automatically

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Smart Home" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. If available, select the option "All groups" in the drop-down list "viewing".
  4. Click the button (Edit) for "Group switch" that corresponds to the group you would like to configure switching based on temperature for.
  5. In the "Automatic Switching" section, select the option "Switching a Group Automatically" and enable the option "Temperature".
  6. Enable the option "Heat" or "Cool", depending on the connected device (for example fan heaters or air-conditioning).
  7. Select the device on which the temperature is to be measured from the drop-down list "Temperature sensor". The temperature sensor (FRITZ!DECT 200 or Comet DECT) is not required to belong to the group.

Note:FRITZ!DECT 200 measures the temperature at least once within 15 minutes and every two minutes it transmits the measured temperature to the FRITZ!Box. You can see the temperature readings under "Home Network" > "Smart Home" in the user interface.

  8. If you selected the option "Heat", set the "Comfort temperature" and the "Cool-down temperature". If you selected the option "Cool", select the "Desired temperature".
  9. Select the desired switching times in the weekly calendar by clicking on them or holding down the left mouse button while you drag the mouse across the desired times.
  10. Click "OK" to save the settings.
