Cannot register a FRITZ!DECT radiator control

Registration of the FRITZ!DECT radiator control, for example FRITZ!DECT 300, to a FRITZ!Box fails. After inserting the batteries into the device, "PREP" or "Gerät wird vorbereitet" is first shown in the display, and then "INST" or "Gerät wird angepasst". However, the DECT connection is not established when you push the "DECT" button on the FRITZ!Box. The symbol for the radio connection is not shown continuously in the display of the radiator control. The error message "Could not complete registration of the FRITZ! actuator" is displayed in the FRITZ!Box.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.

Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.

1 Maximum number has been reached

You can register a maximum of twelve radiator controls with the FRITZ!Box. If you already registered twelve devices, you cannot register any more.

Note:Registering a radiator control does not reduce the number of telephones, DECT repeaters, or the number of outlet switches, for example FRITZ!DECT 200, that can be registered.

2 Disabling the keylock

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Buttons and LEDs" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "Keylock" tab.
  4. Disable the "Buttons locked" checkbox.
  5. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

  2. Click "Base Station" in the "DECT" menu.
  3. Enter "0000" as the PIN in the section "Registration".
