Setting up live images from an IP camera for FRITZ!Fon

The live image function enables you to follow what is happening in front of your IP camera (network camera, webcam) on your FRITZ!Fon. To use it, you must enter the web address (URL) of the IP camera with the keys on your FRITZ!Fon and start the live image function on your FRITZ!Fon. The camera image is then shown on the telephone's display as a sequence of images without sound.

Requirements / Restrictions

  • In order to use the live view function, you must use a FRITZ!Fon registered with a FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS 6.20 or later.
  • The IP camera records images in JPG/JPEG file format. FRITZ!Boxes with FRITZ!OS 6.50 or later also supports images in MJPG/MJPEG, PNG and GIF file format.
  • The IP camera makes the images available via FTP or HTTP. HTTPS is not supported.

Note:The configuration procedure and notes on functions given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Box.
