Configuring the push service

You can have the push service send you emails with the connection and usage data of FRITZ!Powerline at regular intervals or when certain events occur. Then FRITZ!Powerline notifies you when a new FRITZ!OS is available, for example, or it automatically sends you a backup file with your settings before every FRITZ!OS update.

1 Entering email account information

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Click "Push Service" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click the "Configure Push Service" link. If the link is not shown, click on the "Sender" tab.
  4. Enter your email address and password.
  5. Click "Account Information: Additional Settings".

    Note:In most cases, FRITZ!Powerline fills in the following information automatically. With smaller local providers, you have to enter it yourself. The required information can be obtained from your email provider.

  6. Enter your user name and the name of your email provider's SMTP server.
  7. If the server cannot be reached over port 25, enter the port used by the server to communicate in the "Port" field, for example 587.
  8. If the server supports SSL, enable the option "This server supports a secure connection (SSL)".
  9. Enable the option "Test email sending after adopting the settings". If the option is not available, the test email will be sent automatically.
  10. Click "Apply" or "Next" and follow the wizard's instructions.
  11. Now the FRITZ!Powerline adapter sends a test email to your email account.

2 Enabling the push service

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Click "Push Service" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click the (Edit) button next to the push services you want to use.
  4. Enable the option "Push service enabled" and configure the individual push services.
  5. Click "OK" to save the settings.
