FRITZ!Powerline 540E Serwis

Since updating FRITZ!OS, wireless connections can no longer be established

Since updating from FRITZ!OS 6.34 or earlier to FRITZ!OS 6.50 or later, individual wireless devices (for example a network printer, Internet radio) that are older can no longer establish a wireless connection (WiFi) to FRITZ!Powerline. Although the wireless devices can find the FRITZ!Powerline's wireless network name (SSID), they do not connect to it after you enter the network key. Newer wireless devices can still connect to FRITZ!Powerline since the update.

  • During the update procedure, the obsolete wireless standard 802.11b is automatically disabled in order to improve wireless performance in the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

Important:If modern wireless devices are also effected or you are not using older wireless devices with 802.11b, proceed as described in this guide.

1 Enabling the wireless standard 802.11b

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Click "Radio Channel" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable the option "Adjust radio channel settings".
  4. Click "Additional Settings".
  5. Select the standard "802.11n+g+b" from the "Wireless standard" drop-down list.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

Now you are able to establish the wireless connection again.
