Determining the MAC address of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater

A MAC address (Media Access Control address) serves to uniquely identify a device in a network.

The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater has different MAC addresses depending on the frequency band being used.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.

1 Determining the MAC address with wireless bridge connection type

The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater is connected to the wireless router over wireless LAN:

  1. Click "Access to Home Network" in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Make note of the corresponding MAC address in the "Local Wireless Network Information" section.

2 Determining the MAC address with LAN bridge connection type

The following step is only necessary if the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater is connected to the router over LAN:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Make note of the respective MAC address listed in the "Radio Network" section.

    Note:This MAC address is visible to wireless devices that connect to the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater's wireless network. The MAC address for the LAN connection to the router is displayed in the router.
