Cannot switch wireless LAN off by button

The wireless network of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater does not switch off when you push the "WPS" button.

  • The option to switch wireless LAN on or off by button was removed from FRITZ!OS 6.90 so you can set up wireless connections and integrate other FRITZ! products into your Mesh by pushing a button. You can set up a schedule to switch the wireless function on or off automatically, or you can switch it manually with the user interface.

Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.

1 Preparations

In the Mesh, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater adopts its settings from the Mesh Master (FRITZ!Box). If you are using the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater with a FRITZ!Box and it is already integrated into the Mesh, you must disable the adoption of settings from the Mesh to switch the wireless LAN function on or off in the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater:

2 Switching the wireless function automatically

The schedule function allows you to automatically switch wireless LAN on and off at certain times:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Schedule" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable the option "Use schedule for wireless radio network" and define when the repeater's wireless network should be switched off.
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

3 Switching the wireless function manually

You can use the user interface to switch wireless LAN off manually:

  1. Click "Wireless" ("WLAN") in the user interface of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater.
  2. Click "Radio Network" in the "Wireless" ("WLAN") menu.
  3. Enable or disable the option "Wireless radio network enabled".
  4. Click "Apply" to save the settings.

The FRITZ!WLAN Repeater's wireless network is now switched off. You can push a button to switch the wireless network back on whenever you want.
