The FRITZ!Box remote connection software cannot be used to access USB devices connected to a remote FRITZ!Box over a VPN connection. The FRITZ!Box USB remote connection communicates with the FRITZ!Box via multicast and broadcast messages that are only transmitted within a local IP network. You therefore cannot use the FRITZ!Box USB remote connection over VPN connections.

However, if you configured a USB storage device connected to the remote FRITZ!Box as storage (NAS), you can also access it over VPN.
