Determining the FRITZ!Box's BSSID
A BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) serves as a unique identifier of a wireless access point, for example a router or a repeater, in a Wi-Fi network. Some applications for setting up Wi-Fi connections require you to enter a BSSID when you want to set up a Wi-Fi connection to your FRITZ!Box.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
1 Determining the Wi-Fi MAC address
The FRITZ!Box's BSSID is the MAC address at which the FRITZ!Box can be accessed by wireless devices. Which MAC address is relevant depends on whether the Wi-Fi connection is established using the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network:
- Click "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Wi-Fi Network" ("Radio Network") in the "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") menu.
- Click "More Information on the Wi-Fi Network" and make note of the respective MAC address.
