FRITZ!Box reports "The modifications to your FRITZ!Box are not supported by the manufacturer"

The FRITZ!Box functions properly, but the message "The modifications to your FRITZ!Box are not supported by the manufacturer" is displayed on the "Overview" page of the user interface.

Cause

  • A FRITZ!OS update failed or an attempt was made to install a FRITZ!OS version for the FRITZ!Box model that was either unsuitable or not released.

Running the recovery tool

You can eliminate this message by running the recovery tool. Since the FRITZ!Box functions are not affected by the message, you can also simply ignore it:

  1. Use the recovery program to reset the FRITZ!Box.
