Cannot register a FRITZ!DECT radiator control
Registration of FRITZ!DECT 302 to the FRITZ!Box or the FRITZ!Smart Gateway fails. After you push the DECT or Connect button on the FRITZ!Box or the FRITZ!Smart Gateway, the DECT connection is not established. The symbol for the radio connection is not permanently shown in the display of the radiator control. The radiator control is not displayed or is displayed with an inactive connection in the menu "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box or the gateway.
Note:All instructions on configuration and settings given in this guide refer to the latest FRITZ!OS for the FRITZ!Box.
Simply proceed as described below. After each measure, check whether the problem is solved.
1 Maximum number has been reached
A certain number of smart home devices can be registered with the FRITZ!Box and the FRITZ!Smart Gateway. If you already registered the maximum number of devices, you cannot register any more.
2 Unlocking the buttons
- Click "System" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "Buttons and LEDs" in the "System" menu.
- Click on the "Keylock" tab.
- Disable the "Buttons locked" checkbox.
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
3 Disabling "Reduce DECT field strength"
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Disable the option "Reduce DECT field strength" in the section "Radio Field Strength".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
4 Disabling "DECT Eco"
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Disable the option "DECT Eco" in the section "Radio Field Strength".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
5 Enabling encryption
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Enable the option "Permit only secure DECT connections (recommended)" in the section "Security".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
- If the option was disabled, you must then restart the FRITZ!Box once using the user interface ("System > Backup > Restart").
6 Setting a PIN
For automatic registration to work, you must set the PIN to "0000" in the FRITZ!Box user interface:
- Click "Telephony" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
- Click "DECT" in the "Telephony" menu.
- Enter "0000" as the PIN in the section "Registration".
- Click "Apply" to save the settings.
7 Re-registering FRITZ!DECT radiator controls
Loading the factory settings of the radiator control
- Push and hold the "Menu" button on the radiator control.
- Push (next menu page).
- Push (load factory settings).
- Push "OK".
Important:Push the button next to "OK", not "OK" on the display.
Establishing a DECT connection
- Remove the batteries from the battery compartment on the radiator control for at least 30 seconds.
- If the radiator control is not mounted on the radiator:
- Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface or in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway.
- Click "Device Management" or "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
- Click the button "Register Device" or "Register a FRITZ! Smart Home Device" and select the desired option.
- Within 2 minutes: Reinsert the batteries and follow the instructions on the display of the radiator control.
- If the radiator control is mounted on the radiator:
- Reinsert the batteries.
- Push and hold "OK".
Important:Push the button next to "OK", not "OK" on the display.
The valve adjustment is complete as soon as the preset temperature appears in the display. - Click "Smart Home" in the FRITZ!Box user interface or in the user interface of the FRITZ!Smart Gateway to register it.
- Click "Device Management" or "Devices and Groups" in the "Smart Home" menu.
- Click the button "Register Device" or "Register a FRITZ! Smart Home Device" and select the desired option.
- Within 2 minutes: Push and hold the button "Menü" on the radiator control, then push (start registration) and then "OK".
Important:Push the button next to "OK", not "OK" on the display.
The radio connection is established as soon as the symbol for the existing radio connection appears in the display of the radiator control.
