FRITZ!Powerline reports "The search for a new FRITZ!OS version failed"

It is not possible to determine whether a new FRITZ!OS is available. After you click the "Find New FRITZ!OS" button, the message "The search for a new FRITZ!OS version failed" is displayed in the user interface.

Cause

  • Temporary problem with the internet connection or AVM Update Server.

Repeat the search later or perform the update manually as described here.

1 Downloading the FRITZ!OS file

  1. Call up https://download.avm.de/fritzpowerline/ in your web browser.
  2. Switch to the folder for your FRITZ!Powerline model, then to the subfolder "other", and then to the folder "fritz.os".
  3. Download the file with the extension ".image" to the computer.

2 Installing the latest FRITZ!OS

  1. Click "System" in the FRITZ!Powerline user interface.
  2. Click "Update" or "Firmware Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "FRITZ!OS File" or "Firmware File" tab.
  4. Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button.
  5. Select the FRITZ!OS file you downloaded (image file).
  6. Click the "Start Update" button.
