Updating FRITZ!OS of the FRITZ!Repeater

There are several ways to install the latest FRITZ!OS for your FRITZ!Repeater - either quickly and easily with one of the two "online update" functions, or manually if an online update is not possible:

  • Online update using the FRITZ!Box user interface
  • Online update using the repeater's user interface
  • Manual update using the repeater's user interface

1 Using the FRITZ!Box user interface to update

  1. Click "Home Network" in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Mesh" or "Home Network Overview" in the "Home Network" menu.
  3. Click "Perform update" next to the respective FRITZ!Repeater.

2 Using the repeater's user interface to update

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "FRITZ!OS Version" tab.
  4. Click the "Find New FRITZ!OS" button.
  5. Click the "Start Update" button.

3 Updating manually

If an online update is not possible, for example when the repeater is not connected to the internet, update manually:

Downloading the FRITZ!OS file

  1. Call up download.avm.de/fritzwlan/ in your web browser.
  2. Switch to the folder for your repeater model, then to the subfolder "deutschland" or "other", and then to the folder "fritz.os".
  3. Download the file with the extension ".image" to the computer.

Installing the latest FRITZ!OS

  1. Click "System" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Repeater.
  2. Click "Update" in the "System" menu.
  3. Click on the "FRITZ!OS file" tab.
  4. Click the "Browse..." or "Choose File" button.
  5. Select the update file you downloaded (image file).
  6. Click the "Start Update" button.
