Setting up a schedule for the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi network

The schedule function allows you to automatically switch the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi on and off at certain times. In the FRITZ! Mesh, the FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master) transmits the scheduling settings to all Mesh Repeaters (for example FRITZ!Repeater) and thus ensures that the Wi-Fi is switched off in the entire Mesh at night, for example.

Regardless of the schedule, you can activate or deactivate the Wi-Fi at any time by briefly pushing the WLAN button on the FRITZ!Box. You can activate or deactivate the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi by selecting "Home network" > "Wi-Fi" on a FRITZ!Fon, or you can enter the keypad code #96*1* or #96*0* on a different telephone. If Wi-Fi is enabled on the FRITZ!Box, you can also enable Wi-Fi on the Mesh Repeaters by briefly pushing the Connect or WPS button.

1 Preparations

The following steps are only necessary if you want to set up scheduling settings in a FRITZ!Box configured as a Mesh Repeater that differ from those of a Mesh Master (to switch off Wi-Fi in your child's room earlier, for example):

2 Setting up a Wi-Fi schedule

  1. Click "Wi-Fi" ("Wireless") in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. Click "Schedule" in the "Wi-Fi" menu.
  3. Enable the option "Use schedule for Wi-Fi network".
  4. If the Wi-Fi network should not be switched off until no more wireless devices are connected, enable the option "The Wi-Fi network cannot be switched off until no more wireless devices are active".
  5. Define when the Wi-Fi network should be switched off.
    • If the Wi-Fi network is to be switched off at the same time every day:
      1. Enable the option "Switch Wi-Fi off daily".
      2. Enter the desired period.
    • If you would like to set up a detailed weekly schedule:
      1. Enable the option "Switch off Wi-Fi network according to schedule".
      2. Mark the desired periods of time by clicking and dragging with the mouse or click the "Enter Period" button and enter the periods using the keyboard.
  6. Click "Apply" to save the settings.
